Why Do I Need a Protection Plan?

When you store your property with TrueSafe, we treat your items with care and love.

No matter what you store with us, our units are designed to protect your items. However, anything can be damaged by a catastrophe.

As an additional protection for your stored items, we offer the TrueSafe Protection Plan. That way, you can rest easy knowing your stuff is protected!

What's Covered*

Your protection plan covers losses caused by the following:

Participating protection plans cover risks associated with the negligence of the store owner and are designed to be compliant with regulatory requirements set forth by the New York Department of Financial Services. The liability of the store owner is limited to the terms, limits, and conditions of the protection plan.

Burglary

Damage to Stored Vehicle, Boat, or Trailer

Water Damage Including Mold and Mildew

Fire

Rodent & Vermin

Vandalism

Building Collapse Including Weight of Snow/Ice or Windstorm

*Evidence of forced entry and police report required to file a burglary claim. Coverages are limited for Building Collapse, Damage to Stored Vehicle, Boat, or Trailer, Rodent/Vermin, and Mold and Mildew claims — please contact us for details. Water damage coverage does not extend to damage caused by flood/surface water.

Not Protected*

Refrain from storing the following goods in your unit as the protection plan does not cover these items:

Accounts, bills, currency, data, documents, records, deeds, evidences of debt, money, notes, securities, or stamps

Aircraft

Animals, birds, or fish

Antiques

Firearms

Furs, fur garments, and garments trimmed with fur

Contraband or other property held for, or in the course of, illegal transportation, sale, or trade

Jewelry, watches, precious or semiprecious stones, bullion, gold, goldware, gold-plated ware, silver, silverware, platinum, or other precious metals or alloys, and photographic equipment

Valuable papers and records, including those which exist as electronic data and photographs

Plans are priced monthly and included in the total rental fee

$100 per-claim deductible for all protection levels. The deductible is waived for burglary claims when a cylinder or disc padlock is used.

Call the police

Report break-ins to local police and obtain a copy of the report.
